Variety may be the spice of life, but at Karol Bagh we'd like to disagree with you on that - albeit on sweet note. While not exactly the Mecca of sweets ( that's reserved for Purani Dilli ), Karol Bagh holds in her bylanes and alleys enough temptation to beckon the best to commit the sweetest of indiscretions. Weight watchers won't know the heavens of delight that they're missing out on. Like the Romans of yore, one would like to gorge on these delectable goodies that line the shelves of halwai shops like offerings to the great gods of good taste. Exotic or not, the Indian sweetmeat is the ultimate in seduction. Imagine poetry in motion when an imarti is first twirled and then given its glistening golden crown of whirls, close your eyes and you could almost taste the delicte kaju katli, and sniff ambrosia when you take a large whiff of gajar ka halwa. Seduction lies not far in the face of mishti doi, karachi halwa, nariyal kibarfi and kalakand, not to mention the mystical sweetness of kesar ke malpua or zafrani rasmalai...and I have'nt even touched a tenth of the fabled sweetness of India... Perhaps our nature lends itself to sweetness. Perhaps our sweetness results in our nature. But what is does do is unite India in that everlasting bond of brotherhood...and to raise a toast to this endearing quality of the life of India...aap bhi moonh meetha keejiye...
